1900At the turn of the century, a building was constructed in the typical railway architectural style of that era.

Name Change
1922The city of Leipzig grew rapidly. As a result, the train station was renamed Leipzig-Möckern.

Closure of the train station
2005Modernization moved forward, and a new ticketing system was introduced. As a result, the station building became obsolete.

New Use
2013/14The Leipzig-Möckern train station is being given a new lease on life. Over the course of about two years, the station building will undergo a meticulous restoration. Two modern luxury apartments will be created and rented to interested guests.
